No, the DHA exam is open to both UAE nationals and international healthcare professionals who wish to work in Dubai’s healthcare sector.

All healthcare professionals — including doctors, pharmacists, nurses, physiotherapists, and medical laboratory technicians — must pass the DHA exam to legally work and register under Dubai Health Authority (DHA).

The DHA license is typically valid for one year and must be renewed annually to continue practising in Dubai.

The minimum passing score for most DHA exams, including Medical Laboratory Technician, is 60%.

The DHA exam duration for most healthcare roles, including lab technicians, is around 2 hours, with approximately 70–100 multiple-choice questions (MCQs).

The fee required for the DHA Medical Laboratory Technician Prometric Exam is $240.

 

The Dubai Health Authority exam can be attended from various test centres across 160 countries.

 

All healthcare workers must possess a valid DHA licence to practise in Dubai.
