MODULE 1: Fundamentals of Nursing Practice 

  1. Nursing process (Assessment, Diagnosis, Planning, Implementation, Evaluation).
  2. Vital signs assessment and interpretation.
  3. Aseptic techniques and infection control.
  4. Documentation and legal aspects of nursing records.
  5. Safety measures and patient fall prevention.
  6. Pain management techniques.
  7. Mobility and positioning.
  8. Skin integrity and pressure ulcer prevention.

 

MODULE 2: Medical-Surgical Nursing

  1. Cardiovascular System
  • Hypertension, angina, myocardial infarction.
  1. Heart failure and nursing interventions.
  • ECG basics and arrhythmia identification.
  • Pre- and post-cardiac procedure care. 
  1. Respiratory System
  • COPD, asthma, pneumonia, tuberculosis.
  • Oxygen therapy, nebulization.
  • Chest physiotherapy and chest tube care
  1. Gastrointestinal System
  • Peptic ulcer disease, hepatitis, liver cirrhosis.
  1. Nutritional therapy.
  • NG tube insertion and care, PEG feeding
  1. Renal and Genitourinary System
  • Acute and chronic kidney disease.
  • Dialysis: nursing care before and after hemodialysis.
  • Urinary catheter care.
  1. Endocrine System
  • Diabetes mellitus: insulin therapy and glucose monitoring.
  • Hypo/hyperthyroidism and nursing care.
  • Electrolyte imbalances. 
  1. Neurological System
  • Stroke (CVA), seizures, Head trauma.
  • Glasgow Coma Scale.
  • Neurological assessments and nursing priorities.

  • Fractures and cast care
  • Post-operative orthopedic care.

MODULE 3: Emergency and Critical Care Nursing

  1. Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).
  2. Triage principles and emergency prioritization.
  3. Shock: types and management.
  4. Sepsis: early recognition and nursing interventions.
  5. Care of intubated and ventilated patients

 

MODULE 4: Pharmacology

  1. Common drug classifications: antibiotics, anti-hypertensive, anti-diabetics, analgesics, anticoagulants.
  2. Medication dosage calculation and conversions.
  3. Routes of administration (oral, IM, IV, subcutaneous).
  4. Drug side effects, contraindications, and interactions.
  5. Safe medication administration and error prevention (5 rights of medication).

 

MODULE 5: Maternal and Child Health Nursing

  1. Obstetric Nursing
  • Antenatal assessment and danger signs
  • Normal and high-risk labor and delivery.
  • Intra-partum monitoring and nursing interventions.
  • Postnatal care and postpartum 5 complications.
  • Breastfeeding support and maternal education.

  • Immediate newborn care and neonatal resuscitation

  3. Vaccination schedules and cold chain management.

  1. Code of ethics for nurses (ANA/ICN and DHA guidelines)

  4. Legal implications of negligence and malpractice.
